THANK YOU
TO THE 150+ SHOPPERS AND VOLUNTEERS
WHO SUPPORTED THE BHEF
AT CRATE AND BARREL ON NOVEMBER 15TH, 2007.
10% of all sales were donated to the
Berkeley Heights Education Foundation
Everyone enjoyed their unique shopping experience as they ate delicious hors doeuvres and desserts while sipping a glass of wine (All supplied by our newest Partner in Education, Crate & Barrel).
For those who missed the "down to the wire" Coach Bag drawing, here's how it played out:
With 147 keys handed out at registration, and only one winning key, the attempt to open the locked box began around 8:00. Everyone lined up to give their key a chance. Excitement mounted by 8:30 when no one seemed to have the winning key.
When it appeared that someone may have gone home with the key in their pocket, Donna Pflug rushed in with 2 keys in hand and her friend Karen Talbot still in the mall paying their dinner bill.
Donna tried her key first with no success. Everyone moaned with disappointment. But, low and behold, as Donna turned her friend Karen's key, the very last one to be tried that night, the lock popped open. We finally had our winner! What a wonderful surprise for Karen to have won the beautiful Coach Bag at the 11th hour.
Thank you to those who helped make our first Crate and Barrel fundraiser such a huge success.
And thank you Crate and Barrel for so graciously hosting such a fun shopping extravaganza for the BHEF. |
