Literary Lunches

An Intergenerational Book Club Program
Do you like to read and talk about books? For several years, the Berkeley Heights Education Foundation has sponsored a “Literary Lunches” program at Columbia Middle School. This program brings together students, staff and senior citizens to discuss a book while enjoying treats provided by the BHEF.
This year’s sessions and book titles are: Coming Soon

If you are an interested Columbia Middle School student, please contact your Language Arts/English teacher to sign up. If you are an interested senior, please contact BHEF trustee Alice White via e-mail at bhef@bhef.info to sign up. You can attend as many sessions as you would like. Due to the popularity of a special book club session that convened at Governor Livingston High School last year to discuss Three Cups of Tea (part of a “Pennies for Peace”-inspired initiative), a similar session is being planned for the fall. Discussion will center on the book Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea.

Lord & Taylor

A fundraising shopping event at Lord & Taylor in Westfield in the spring. Purchase a discount coupon to be used on the day and enjoy the many events held all day at the store. All funds raised go directly to the BHEF.

Talent Show

"The Heights of Talent" is an inter-generational community showcase of talent, underwritten by our Partner in Education, Elefante Music and School for thePerforming Arts. All ages are welcome, all kinds of talent are welcome. People who live, study or work in Berkeley Heights are invited to audition for the Talent Show.
